Obesa Nursery and Gardens | Graaff Reinet
What started as a hobby 35 years ago by owner C.J. Bouwer, grew into an obsession and today Obesa is one of the biggest privately owned nurseries in the world today. As landsapers, they have done work all over South-Africa. Graaff Reinet provides perfect weather for the healthy growing of their cacti and succulents.
They make use of different colours, heights and shapes, understanding the right combination of soil, light ad water for the plants. .
They currently house abot 7 000 species of plants, and raise about 350 000 plants each year.
Just some of the wonderful range:
- Miniature to Giant Cacti
- South-African Succulents, Madagascan Succulents
- Caudiciforms
- Aloes
- Cycads and Assosiates
- Medicinal Plants
- Rare and Endangered Flora and many others.
They focus on the Conservation and Propagation of Rare and Endangered plants and supply their stock globally.
