Wheatlands Country Lodge is a manor house that was designed by Charles Bridgeman, and is a mixture of Cape Dutch and Edwardian styles. It is a beautiful homestead on a working wool and mohair farm.

On entering, guests will be transported back to another era as antique furniture, persian carpets and plenty of bookcases make one think of men of old relaxing with a glass of wine and a cigar. In fact there is a comfy guest lounge with TV and log fires for winter.
Diana Short, the hostess of this wonderful farm, cooks the most divine meals, and her table groans with true Karoo delights – Karoo lamb of course with crisp homegrown vegetables.
If you live in the city, you have to try Wheatlands …. they also have some excellent hikes through the surrounding mountains.
For the time of your life, contact Wheatlands …. and wave the city goodbye.

Outdoor lovers will love time spent in the wild beauty of the Eastern Cape. The fact that Eastern Cape game reserves are malaria free add to their popularity. The Glen Harry Game Reserve is a secluded property where Greater Kudu, Cape Eland, Red Haartebeest, Oryx (Gemsbuck), Burchells Zebra, Black Wildebeest, Impala, Springbuck, Mountain Reedbuck and Blesbuck roam.
They offer a choice of standard hunting packages, but they also tailor hunting safaris to suit clients requirements.. Check their website for taxidermy services etc.
The lovely accommodation at Glen Harry is located in a secluded valley and caters for a maximum of only six guests at any one time in order to enhance the exclusivity of the guests’ experience.
They offer three en-suite guest cottages which have been built from rock and other natural materials in order for guests to fully experience the atmosphere of the bush and nature. The dining lapa is close to the three cottages and dinners are served around an open campfire.
