Reinette Te Water Naudé bought the old stable-like building in 1997, added more buildings on and restored it to its present form.

Somerset Stables isn’t conducted like a business, it’s a beautiful B+B and guest house sanctuary where guests can enjoy true Karoo hospitality. It’ situated away from the hustle and bustle, yet within walking distance to the shops.
Somerset Stables is all about beauty and comfort – their large comfortable bedrooms are en-suite and decorated with style. Private entrances to the rooms ensure your privacy where you can enjoy peace and tranquility in the beautiful gardens and take in stunning views of the mountains.
In the main house you can enjoy a hearty breakfast from the farm-like kitchen.
With plenty of other facilities available, a stay at Somerset Stables will keep you busy and relaxed all at the same time.

The Eastern Cape offers visitors an overwhelming choice when it comes to nature, and the Tsitsikamma Forest, the Baviaanskloof Wilderness area and the Karoo are just some examples of the hugely popuar getaways on offer.

A holiday in the Karoo is becoming a necessity for city dwellers who need the wide open spaces and stark beauty to regain balance in their lives.
Heathers B+B has different units which cater for different size groups. The units are supplied with tea, coffee, milk, sugar and rusks, and all bedding and towels are supplied, with electric blankets for cold Karoo winter nights.
There is a TV, hairdryer, radio and a fan in each bedroom and sitting room.
Guests can spend a relaxing time at the fenced pool, and there’s a play area for children and a freestanding braaier for each unit.

The Karoo is untouched by hectic industry like Gauteng; the air is pure and invigorating, and the staff of Country Village in Graaff Reinet have noticed that their guests start perking up the minute they arrive. The Country Village has taken great care to ensure that visitors to this awesome part of the world have a great place to stay.

They offer seven self catering and three bed and breakfast cottages; all en-suite and fully equipped.
The cottages have got lovely gardens and are close to shops and restaurants. Braai facilities are also available for you to really experience the tranquil peace while you enjoy a meal outdoors.
Many people make The Country Village their night stop-over en-route to Cape Town and P.E. …you try it too; you will probably want to stay a week or two.
